You want to gently add just enough water to remove any mud, dirt, or debris from the photograph. This usually cannot be done with the document drying process however photo paper is thicker and can withstand it. In addition, the glossy finish of the paper allows the water to roll off of the picture without too much being absorbed.
3. Lay it down flat on blotting paper - You can buy ready-made blotting paper. However, paper towels will do in a pinch. Document drying is about taking immediate action which makes paper towels more effective than blotting paper from the store. You can now leave the photos to dry or turn one fan for faster results.
4. Do not worry about the texture/feel of the photograph. - Although the first thing you will want to do is fix the warping that may occur while the photograph is drying, doing so may permanently destroy the picture.
