Drinking in moderation, avoiding fights and not taking small children into crowded areas are highly advisable.

During March, the Alaior Country Fair takes place. This is one of Menorca's most important livestock fairs, though in more recent years it has taken on a more commercial theme. Agriculture is one of the largest sources of revenue, just behind tourism.

One legend in particular involves a pirate named Xoroi. The legend says a local girl was kidnapped and held prisoner in what is now known as The Cave of Xoroi for 10 years. The hideout was found when footsteps were tracked in the snow. Now the same cave that legend names as their hiding place is a bar by day and a disco at night.
